We had the joy this weekend of seeing my friend of over twenty years marry her lovely fiancé Tom. The wedding was a completely DIY affair. The night before, the wedding party descended upon Lake George, and everyone put their talents to use. Molly did the bridesmaid, sweetheart table, and bridal bouquets, I sang a song at their ceremony, and my mom married them, among other things! Tom and his brother (with some friend-helpers) made the entire multi-course meal for the fifty something guests. Liz was in charge of the overall artistic vision (she made her headpiece from bits of lace from the 20s and 30s). It was a wonderful weekend getaway from Brooklyn and we're so happy we got to be a part of it.

I had a lot of fun finding (and illustrating) their gifts. Liz tries to avoid cow milk, so I was pleased to find these goat milk caramels at Brooklyn Larder. |
